Get to Know Me
and My Philosophy
Sweet Home Montessori
Hello and welcome. I am so happy you're here! My name is Haley - mama, wife and early childhood educator. I’ve hung up my teacher hat for now, so you’ll find me sipping coffee and raising my adventurous kids, all day, everyday. While I do love staying home with my little ones, I grew to greatly miss the beautiful bonds and connections that so naturally form when working alongside parents and caregivers. That is how ‘Sweet Home Parenting’ came to life.
Raising children is one of the greatest joys this life has to offer, but goodness, is it hard. The hard stuff, with a little bit of grace, wrapped up in a whole lot of research-based practices can so quickly become the good stuff! Every one of us has the power to show up daily as the peaceful parent we want to be and as many have come to believe, there is simply no effort more radical in its potential for saving the world than a transformation of the way we raise our children.
It is truly the most important work in the world, this raising of good humans. Our work is to raise kind, healthy, and resilient children - who grow into kind, healthy, and resilient adults. Each child is wonderfully unique and you know you're little best, that much is certainly true!
So, where does Sweet Home Parenting come into play? Well, the research agrees that raising children rooted in connection, respect, empathy, and love is the key. Though that sounds wildly reassuring, we need the real, tangible tools, tips, and guidance to support their development. We need to know HOW to get to a place of confident, peaceful, and respectful parenting. Over a decade of field experience, combining Montessori, RIE, Conscious Parenting and Positive Discipline Methodology have all given me the informed knowledge and instincts necessary to collaborate and support your parenting journey. And I am so grateful to be here with you!
Early Childhood Educator & Parenting Guide
I completed my degree in Early Care and Education, including a certification in Early Childhood Development, and went on to teach in a preschool, ages 4 and 5. Though I absolutely loved working with my students and particularly adore that age group, I later decided to take time off to complete my Montessori Early Childhood (3–6 years) Diploma Program with The North American Montessori Center. While working toward my diploma, I continued to teach, in the form of an in-home caregiver and Montessori guide for families and their little ones. I also went on to get certified as a Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Certified Conscious Parenting Coach and completed The RIE Foundations Theory & Observation Intensive Training.
Working toward my goal, while helping families, teaching children, and seeing real, beautiful connections organically unfold right before my eyes -- ah, that's the dream! It was then that I realized the impact of working one-on-one with parents directly could be so fulfilling for me! We could work together to support their children and stay true to their unique family beliefs and parenting styles. Working with parents grants me the gift of being more than a one year blip in a child’s life, and offers us all the tools needed to give them a full spectrum of a loving, caring and supportive village.
We welcomed our first child into the world in 2018 and our second in 2021.
I began teaching my courses online in 2019 and it's been an incredible journey. We now have grow to every corner of the world with thousands of enrolled parents in our courses. To say that I am grateful is simply not enough to explain how full my life is with this Sweet Home Parenting village.
